"Let's Get Together for the Love of God"
Once again, we are hostessing our UMW Unit at our upcoming May meeting, this Monday the 17th at 7pm in our church lounge. A program will be presented and our circle will decorate and provide refreshments to the group. This is always tricky because we cannot predict our attendance. At our April meeting we did discuss going with a simple "love/hearts" theme but not to overdo it, we agreed to decorate the tables in fairly pale/neutral table cloths and use Willow-Creek figurines as centerpieces at each. So, anyone who collects these are encouraged to label them with your name and bring!
We are in need of volunteers to help with set-up beginning at 6:20 and to help provide drinks/ cups-plates-napkins/ heart-shaped cookies (6 dozen+?). All those Ruth's in attendance can help during the meeting by helping to serve and periodically pick up plates, refresh drinks, etc. Please comment to this post if you are willing and able to donate!
... and we're not done with the fun yet, ladies! Friday evening we'll be back at the church to start cleaning the kitchens (5:30pm), followed by a delicious dinner at Biaggi's at 7pm. Please email Janet ASAP at jclammey@gmail.com if you plan to attend so she can finalize the reservation.

I can bring 3 dozen heart shaped cookies. I can also come early and help setup.
I will bring lemonade, ice tea, ice and cups.
I can bring plates and/or napkins. What color do you think and how many? Just let me know! And I have 2 Willw tree figurines we can use and I will be there early to set up and help.
Michelle
I can't be there early to set up due to Gavin's last Cub Scout meeting/cook-out, but I am happy to help during! I have 6 Willow Tree figurines as well. (Can I get those to you beforehand?)
Julie
I can bring my willow tree figs, help set up, and bring plates and napkins.
Let's see... Sarah, I think Michelle had dibs on cups & plates... would you do nuts and/or buttermints? (I think Elisabeth was finding a dish we could use) As for the color... why don't we do light pink cups, plates, and napkins... I just don't know on the count... maybe 40+ to be safe? You are all welcome to bring the figurines to me before the meeting if you cannot set-up, just be sure to label with your name.
Anyone willing to make coffee? More cookies? Thanks!
I will be able to come and help out with set up. I am checking to make sure, but I am pretty sure I won't need childcare. I will bring nuts and mints. I have one or two of the willow tree figures. I will see what I can find.
I will email Sarah to coordinate but her and I will cover napkins and plates.
Michelle
Sally, if you want me to get one or the other, just let me know.
Claire - I have several little pretty crystal bowls we can use for mints and nuts of whatever. I will bring them with me and you can choose whatever you might need to use ok?
Also if you want to do a nice punch instead of ice tea and lemonade, Jen Barlow has a pretty punch set we may be able to borrow and a yummy punch receipe too. Just a thought! let me know!
Michelle
If there's anything remaining to donate (or cookies that can be bought), I'm happy to pitch in. Although I might just float someone the money to pick it up if there are any offers. Sorry to miss the May events, but I think the little guy will be keeping us busy for a bit. :)
No thanks, Erin, you have a "pass" from helping with this! You just focus on your darling little one and we'll take care of it!
... so ladies, I need COOKIES... at least 3-4 dozen and heart-shaped. Or honestly, any kind, we can mix them up on a platter with the heart-shaped and they'll look cute. Also, can anyone make coffee??? Thanks!
I can pick-up 3 dozen cookies tomorrow on the way. I'm not sure I'll have time to make any.
Nicole,
I actually ended up with way more cookies than I thought I'd have, so I think I have 6 dozen covered, no problem. If you are able to, though, what about picking up some strawberries at the grocery store? It might be good to have something healthy in the midst all the sweets! If you can't get to it, though, no problem.
See you tomorrow night!
Janet
Janet,
That would be even easier! Do you want me to bring a serving platter for the strawberries?
Nicole
Sure, that would be great! I'd just leave them whole, too, so they can be finger foods. Thanks again!
You girls are great- I should have read this earlier! I dropped off most of my stuff plus a couple containers of Wal-Mart cookies. I think we'll have plenty! Thank you!
... Can anyone pick up ice?
I have to go to the store for the strawberries. I can get ice too.
Nicole
